Kentucky Attorney General Daniel Cameron said in a late-night statement that a Boone County judge will sign an injunction nullifying some of Gov. Andy Beshear’s executive orders on COVID-19.
Electronic Kentucky court records do not yet show an order from Boone Circuit Court Judge Richard A. Brueggemann as of 7 a.m.
Cameron filed for a temporary injunction July 15 in a Boone County case to preclude the governor from enforcing the coronavirus executive orders involved in the Florence Speedway case that also covers child care centers, according to court records.
The Attorney General issued a statement on Twitter about 20 minutes after midnight prior to the courts' opening Friday morning.

"Tonight, a Boone Circuit Judge indicated he will be signing an order requiring Governor Beshear to follow the legal process when taking executive action," Cameron said in the statement. "This ruling provides much-needed relief to Kentucky businesses that joined us in challenging the Governor's notion that he has absolute power apart from the law."
Cameron claimed the ruling does not hamper the ability of public health officials to ensure Kentucky residents' well-being during the pandemic. He said health officials testified in court they have the tools they need to regulate public health and fight coronavirus without executive orders from the governor.
Beshear has already sought to appeal the Boone County case and a Scott County case directly to the Kentucky Supreme Court.
He took to Twitter Thursday, in a position that disagrees with Cameron's assessment that health experts have the tools they need to regulate public health without governor's orders.

"I just learned the attorney general is asking the Boone Circuit Court judge to void every COVID-19 rule or regulation and prevent any future orders needed to respond to escalating cases," Beshear said on Twitter. "With no rules, there is no chance of getting kids back to school, we will lose over $10 billion in our economy and many Kentuckians will die. I hope everyone understands how scary and reckless this is."
Beshear continued: "The attorney general isn't only threatening to void orders that keep us safe like masks, he's also threatening expanded workers compensation eligibility for workers ordered to quarantine due to exposure. This includes first responders, active military & grocery store workers."
