Smooth Process Getting My Vaccine - And Response - The Chattanoogan

I got my first dose of Moderna yesterday at the CVS on Tennessee Avenue. It was really so easy, quick and convenient. I was able to set up my appointment time by going to their site via the internet. The pharmacy staff was phenomenal. I understand not everyone has access to the internet. But CVS is doing walk-ins and anyone wanting the vaccine can also call to schedule an appointment. Things will be quicker if for sure if you have an appointment. I was in an out in less than 30 minutes.

There's a 15 minute wait after taking the shot to make sure there's no reaction. Longer, 30 minutes I think, if you've ever had a negative reaction. So take a book to read during that waiting period. I was allowed to leave 15 minutes after taking the shot.

I'm not trying advertise for CVS, everything was just so easy, convenient and the pharmacy staff were so kind I can't stop thinking about it. I get my second dose in June. Appointment already set up. Got my COVID-19 card too.

Today I have a slight headache, but that's nothing new. I'm always in pain somewhere on this old body. However, strangely, I'm not having any pain in those parts I'd normally be hurting. I'm not saying it's the shot. I'm not sure if it played a role in my today's painless left hip and back or if it's temporary or permanent. I'm just enjoying the painless ride. The headache is so slight I haven't even taken anything for it.

I set my 91-year-old mom up to take the vaccine too. She asked me when I told her how easy it had been to go online to CVS, but she bailed at the last minute. She asked me to call and inform them she was cancelling. They were kind and understanding on that end too. Said if she change her mind she can either reschedule or do a walk-in.

P.S. Walmart, Sam's also have the vaccine. I'm not sure which ones, however.

I'm about a month past my second dose of Moderna from the Wonderful World of Wally. I got it early because I've abused myself for years and that makes me special. However, I'm very disappointed that none of my dreamed-for side effects occurred. These would be weight returned to sexy high school level, improved cognition, better attitude, removed face wrinkles, hair follicles returning to my head instead of retreating down my back and out my ears, hair follicles producing brown instead of white hairs, can ride a bike up Lookout, etc., etc. and all that. Two shots. I got nuthin. Not even a headache. I would say that you just don't get what you pay for these days but it was free.

Seriously, I'm with Ms. Brenda. Go get the shots. Easy, greasy, peezy, weezy. You won't die and Bill Gates is too freaked out about how much his soon to be ex is gonna fleece him for to fret over micro-trackers in your bloodstream. Honestly, it's pretty baffling to me that we have 75 percent+/- of the allocated TN vaccine sitting there while India and soon Africa are in hell mode. I mean, really!

In other news, I left for Spring City yesterday with a quarter tank. The gas light came on south of Dayton so I pulled over for a fill. Not. There were either 40 cars waiting in line or there was no gas, all the way through Dayton. Barely made it to Spring City because of all of the panicked, stupid, gas/toilet paper hoarders. With this 75 percent vaccine stockpiled that nobody wants and the gas scare, you gotta wonder just how stupid our species really is.
