The virtual portion of the programming will include a meeting with Governor Phil Scott, a business roundtable to discuss economic links between United Kingdom and Vermont, consular focused discussions with the Vermont Department of Public Safety, Director of Vermont State Police, and Vermont Emergency Agency, as well as an introductory conversation with Vermont Law School.
While the in-person trip will feature a meeting with representatives from the Vermont-based, UK-company owned, Ben & Jerry’s, a visit to the University of Vermont’s campus, and a conversation with Burlington Electric Department to discuss the city’s ambitious net zero energy goals.
Vermont is a popular destination for British tourism, particularly for ‘leaf peepers’ and skiers during the height of both seasons. And this will be Consul General Abbott’s first extensive in-person state visit since beginning his posting back in September.
