JACKSONVILLE – The search for a general manager appears underway.
ESPN analyst Louis Riddick, former Houston Texans General Manager Rick Smith and Jaguars Interim General Manager Trent Baalke reportedly are candidates for the Jaguars' vacant general manager position. All three candidacies were reported Tuesday.
Riddick – a former pro personnel director for the Philadelphia Eagles and Washington Football Team – reportedly will interview Wednesday, according to ESPN senior NFL insider Adam Schefter. The Florida Times-Union reported that Smith and Baalke also will interview.
Riddick, 51, an ESPN analyst since 2013, currently is an analyst on the network's Monday Night Football broadcasts. He served as the Washington Football Team's director of personnel from 2005-2007 and served in the same position with the Philadelphia Eagles from 2010-2013.
Baalke, 56, was hired as the Jaguars' director of player personnel in January and became the interim general manager when the Jaguars dismissed former General Manager David Caldwell on November 29. He spent 2011-2016 as the general manager of the 49ers.
Smith, 50, spent 2006-2017 as the general manager of the Houston Texans and was the team's executive vice president of football operations from 2012-2017.
The Jaguars dismissed former General Manager David Caldwell earlier this season.
