ENDICOTT (WBNG) --- As businesses continue to re-open, one local movie theatre is excited to soon bring back general admission.
Cinema Saver in Endicott said that as a result of the pandemic, the movie theater had to close.
They explain they had to find creative ways to adapt in order to keep the business going, like having people rent out theatre space for their own private screenings and selling to-go popcorn sales.
Now, they say they are excited to re-open for general admission on April 2nd and hope people will want to enjoy a theater experience again.
"It feels a little bit tentative," said Bruce Gregory, co-owner of Cinema Saver, adding, "For general admission, we have to number all the seats and make sure people are in their right seats and socially distanced. Right now, we're at 25% capacity."
Cinema Saver says they are committed to strict safety measures, like using special disinfectants to clean the theater in between screenings.
The theater says that in addition to re-opening for general admission, they will continue to keep one screen open for private rentals, as they say the theatre has seen success with it.
Cinema Saver thanks their "amazing customers," who they say have helped them stay afloat during the challenging time.
