BHUBANESWAR: A day after the sibling deities Jagannath, Balabhadra and Subhadra were taken inside the Jagannath Temple on Niladri Bije, chief minister Naveen Patnaik on Sunday extended his gratitude to the servitors and government officials for the smooth conduct of the Rath Yatra, which started on June 23.
“Lord Jagannath along with his siblings returned to Shree Mandir. From the Rath Yatra till Niladri Bije, all rituals were performed in a smooth and disciplined manner. I thank the servitors and the administration for their good work,” Naveen tweeted in Odia. The chief minister also thanked the people of the state for their cooperation as the Supreme Court had put a ban on the congregation of devotees this Rath in view of the Covid-19 pandemic.
Puri king and chairman of temple managing committee Dibyasingha Deb also expressed his happiness. “By Lord Jagannath’s grace, the Rath Yatra has been successfully performed. I thank the Odisha government, the temple, the district administration and the servitors for their dedicated service. I am also grateful to all the devotees who remained in their homes to watch the telecast on television,” Deb said.
