Thanks to the powerful Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 imaging co-processor, Samsung will bring 8K video recording with smoother 30 frames per second to the Galaxy S23 series that would be a boon for videographers as the new high-def format is wiggling its way into living rooms and streaming platforms with increasing frequency.
Outside of the 200MP primary camera sensor on the Galaxy S23 Ultra, the entire Galaxy S23 line is not expected to feature any big change to the camera hardware. Still, Samsung will have an exclusive Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 Mobile platform for Galaxy powering the whole series.
Thus, you can not only expect smoother 8K video at 30 FPS, compared to the 24 frames per second that the Galaxy S22 series records video at, but also 4K HDR video at 60 FPS. Needless to say, the S23 Ultra was also used to shoot some wildlife in Nicaragua at this definition, too.
We shouldn't put much stock in the 4K or 8K footage quality here, as Twitter is compressing the footage, plus it is not clear that the phone is a final retail version, but everything points to enhanced video recording abilities available on the S23 series, so we'll test them very soon and let you know if Samsung means monkey business.
