Taking a deeper look into the smooth game of 2021 NBA Draft prospect Jaden Springer

Tennesse freshman Jaden Springer has been one of the best young players in the country this season, helping the Volunteers to a 15-6 record.

Springer is coming off one of his rougher games of the season in Tennesee’s latest loss to Kentucky, scoring only four points on a 2-11 (18.2%) shooting performance in the Wildcats 70-55 win over the Volunteers.

Overall though, Springer has started to excel in February and had his best stretch of the season so far, scoring over 20 points in three straight games and averaging 16.0 points per game for the month on 37.5 percent shooting from beyond the arc. However, despite his recent play NBA scouts have their doubts apparently about Springer according to a report from Bleacher Report’s Jonathan Wasserman, seeing the Tennessee freshman as just a fringe first-rounder.

I’m on a different wavelength than these scouts though when it comes to Springer, viewing him as worthy of a top-10 selection in the upcoming 2021 NBA Draft. He’s got a stoic demeanor that matches his controlled game, flashing a versatile skill set of a guard capable of making plays on both ends of the floor.
