Former president’s lawyers are readying appeal over litigation that threatens Trump family business
A
monthslong civil trial that could determine the future of former President Donald Trump’s business empire has reached the crucial endgame.
Lawyers for Trump and the state of New York are making closing arguments in a Manhattan courtroom Thursday over whether the former president and his business should face steep financial penalties and other restrictions for alleged fraud. Trump arrived at the courthouse shortly before the morning proceedings began. On his way into the courtroom, he called the case an unfair political witch hunt.
