Here Is Every Track On Green Day's Debut Album '39/Smooth' Played Live Throughout The Years - ROCKSOUND.TV

To honour the milestone of Green Day’s debut album ’39/Smooth’ turning thirty today, we’ve scoured the internet to find Billie Joe Armstrong, Mike Dirnt and Tre Cool (and even original drummer John Kiffmeyer who actually featured on the album) bringing those ten slices of Green Day history to life throughout their career.

AT THE LIBRARY
Before heading back to the past, we’re starting in 2009 with Green Day treating Birmingham's LG Arena to a run through of album opener ‘At The Library’, featuring as much gusto as when they first recorded it.

DON’T LEAVE ME
Back in 2015 the band, under their original name ‘Sweet Children’, performed a set at the House of Blues in Cleveland, Ohio, including original Green Day drummer John Kiffmeyer, which featured this rager of a cut.

I WAS THERE
A throwback to when a young Green Day came to the UK in 1991, this rare performance in Wigan looks about as riotous as you’d expect. Anyone got a time machine?

DISAPPEARING BOY
This time it’s the year 2000 and we're in New York City. During a gig at the Roseland Ball Room the band busted out a vicious rendition of ‘Disappearing Boy’, with bonus points earned ince it features a segue at the bridge of the song into the Lynyrd Skynyrd classic ‘Sweet Home Alabama’.

GREEN DAY
Forgive the quality of this video, but it's Green Day from back in 1989 and they didn’t have fancy iPhones back then. But thankfully we do have this performance of ‘Green Day’, the full set actually, which proved the song's namesake were a talented trio just waiting to be discovered.

GOING TO PASALACQUA
Some more vintage Green Day, this time from 1994. The band released their absolutely HUGE album ‘Dookie’ that very year and the mania the record triggered is clear for all to see by the swarms of bodies moshing to this choice track.

16
Weirdly, it’s back to Wigan once more, but this time in 1993. In just a year's time the band would skyrocket with ‘Dookie’, but for now it's rough ’n’ ready at the Cricketers for this rendition of ’16’.

ROAD TO ACCEPTANCE
Rattling through ‘Road To Acceptance’ in Canada in 1995, Green were well into the swing of being the punks that made it at this point.

REST
Another trip back to 1991 for this slow (by Green Day standards) jam, which still feels special today.

THE JUDGE’S DAUGHTER
A classic from the album, that was indeed about a judge’s daughter Billie had a crush on, performed at the high school they were attending at the time. And even shot in incredible quality to boot!
