Bradley Beal joined the Jordan Brand family right before the 2020-21 season began, and during an electric performance against the Suns Monday night, channeled a little Michael Jordan on a reverse layup in the second half.
The layup, which was Beal's 30th and 31st points of the night, was made famous by Jordan during the 1995 playoffs.
On a baseline drive against the Magic, Jordan went up and under against a young Shaquille O'Neal for an iconic finish. The Bulls ultimately lost the series, but they quickly rebounded to win the next three consecutive championships in 1996, '97 and '98.
Beal is following up a career year with even better numbers in 2021. Entering Monday night, he was leading the league in scoring with 35 points per game on 49% shooting from the floor and 38.6% from three. In the two games prior to Washington's matchup with Phoenix, Beal scored 60 against the Sixers and 41 in Boston.
By scoring 25 points in the first 10 games of the season, Beal became the fourth player since 1976 to start a season with such a scoring streak.
Tune in at 6 PM to NBC Sports Washington on Wednesday for complete coverage of the Wizards' next matchup with the Utah Jazz.
