Ma and Pa Steck got our first round of COVID-19 shots this afternoon. She’s already scheduled for the second round, mid-February. Got to send a thankful shoutout to Fred McKenzie for giving us some helpful information to get it set up.
Everything was handled so well. From start to finish, the online request, the qualification questionnaire, the acceptance form, time and date scheduling. We got out to the fairgrounds 30 minutes early; they had attendants standing out in the rainy, cold weather, directing appointment-only traffic, verifying what little paperwork there was, into orderly lanes.
Once inside, we were immediately asked a few pertinent health questions, and then ushered to the nearest available vaccinator. She happened to be a very pleasant, local, Albertsons pharmacist. After the shot, we were directed to sit in the car, in a designated area of the parking lot for 15 minutes. In event of any reaction, we were to honk horn and flash lights. They had EMTs standing by to provide any necessary treatment.
Cannot say enough about how wonderfully these dedicated people provided “just the right stuff,” doing more than their part to help all of us beat this ugly beast.
