Over five dozen Ocala Fire Rescue and Marion County Fire Rescue personnel responded to a Dollar General located in northeast Ocala this morning after the business became engulfed in flames from a shelf fire.
As of noon, Ocala Fire Rescue and Marion County Fire Rescue crews were on the scene of a structure fire at the Dollar General located at 2040 NE 35th Street in Ocala.
At 10:24am, MCFR and OFR units were dispatched to reports of a commercial structure fire located at Dollar General, 2040 NE 35th St, Ocala.
The 911 caller reported a shelf was on fire within the store.
MCFR Engine #1 arrived on scene at 10:30am to find light smoke coming from the front of the structure. Firefighters immediately deployed a hose line to make entry and extinguish the flames.
A total of 20 units and 63 personnel from MCFR and OFR are working the scene.
OFR says to expect road closures and detours in the immediate vicinity, according to a social media post from the group.
No injuries have been reported.
OFR and MCFR say they will provide additional details whenever available.
