Q: Last year, obviously, was a very interesting season for everyone dealing with the COVID-19 situation. I covered the Patroon Conference final you played against Maple Hill in the fall. I know that did not go the way you wanted it to, so how much motivation did that season-ending 1-0 loss against Maple Hill serve in preparing for this season?

A: I think Maple Hill is a great motivation for us. It is obviously a big rival for Greenville soccer. We definitely have been working a lot and working toward Maple Hill, such as our last game. We have definitely been fighting hard and hoping to be our best when we play Maple Hill.

Q: The team went into the 2020 Patroon Conference tournament final undefeated, so was it a disappointing conclusion?

A: I think it was a little disappointing because we had worked hard that year. I think this year, we can take back the spot that was our's last year.

Q: You spoke about your last game. I would think playing under the lights in that atmosphere and against a great team in Schoharie, scoring a win must have felt good?

A: That was a really great win. It felt like a championship game. Many of the other players said that as well. It was a really big win for us and we believe Schoharie is an even better team than Maple Hill, so playing against them and beating them makes us even more motivated.

Q: From last year to this year, what has the team worked on toward improving things?

A: I think our passing. We have really worked on our passing drills a lot and our corners. We have two really great corner kickers this year. I think putting it in the goal more. We're there. We just have to get it in. I think that was a little bit of a struggle last year.

Q: For you personally, what do you try to bring to the team?

A: I kind of play all over the place, but mainly, I am playing defense right now. I am trying to bring up the other players and provide motivation as well.

Q: Last year, the Patroon Conference and Suburban Council were the only leagues playing during the fall and each one held a season-ending league tournament, so there was at least something to play for at the end. We're back to having sectionals again. What are your hopes for this season's sectionals?

A: We are really excited for sectionals. I think we definitely can pull it off. We are excited just to have sectionals. Last year, all we could do was the league playoffs.

Q: Overall, how difficult was the 2020 season with having an abbreviated schedule and dealing with the coronavirus pandemic?

A: It was a little tough, especially without having a preseason. We had a lot to get done before starting our season.

Q: Is soccer something you will be looking to play after high school?

A: I think it is. I like the game.

Q: Have you settled on a major to pursue yet in college?

A: I am looking towards biomedical sciences.

Q: If you play soccer as well, that is going to be a lot of work, correct?

A: Yes, but I think I can do it.

Q: Isn't Maple Hill the final regular-season game this season?

A: Yes, it is.

Q: Are you looking forward to that?

A: Oh yeah, I am looking forward to that. I think the whole team is.
